Our recommendation: from mid-February – Wednesday to Sunday, in March – Saturday and Sunday

As you leave Dresden’s Old Town, a picturesque sight reveals itself to you from afar – the three historic Elbe castles. Albrechtsberg Castle, the Lingnerschloss and Eckberg Castle, which were built on the vineyard grounds in the 19th century within 11 years, present themselves in a winter idyll. The trip takes you further upstream, past the famous Loschwitz Bridge, affectionately known by Dresdeners as the “Blue Wonder”, as well as the imposing television tower and the picturesque “Maria am Wasser” boatmen’s church.

Finally, we approach the fourth and probably best-known palace, Pillnitz Palace. This jewel, one of the most important chinoiserie palace complexes in the whole of Europe, once served as the summer residence of the Saxon kings, including Elector Augustus the Strong. During the return journey, you will have plenty of time to sit back and enjoy the view of the Elbe meadows before we dock again on the Terrassenufer in Dresden’s Old Town.
