Fast train ride and plenty of ship pleasure
This is the highlight of the WEIßE FLOTTE SACHSEN GmbH: a truly long boat tour with food and drinks on board and a speedy arrival and departure, without having to worry about your own car. Two suitable offers are included in our schedule: a day trip to Saxon Switzerland (Line L12) and the Great Elbe Valley Line (L34).
The longer option is the Great Elbe Valley Line – departing from Pirna, traveling upstream to Bad Schandau, and after a half-hour stopover, returning to Pirna or continuing straight to Dresden. The total journey time to Dresden is six and a half hours. This is ideal for deep relaxation and total deceleration. The fastest way to get to the departure point is with the S1 S-Bahn, for example, from Dresden Central Station (journey time 22 minutes).
The shorter option: Take a steamer upstream from Dresden in the morning, arriving in Bad Schandau after five and a half hours (route 12). From there, take the S-Bahn back to Dresden Central Station (journey time is just over three-quarters of an hour).
