Das Motorschiff

Two ships, one new look!

They will be confusingly similar – our saloon ships “Gräfin Cosel” and “Augustus the Strong”. Only a closer look – at the bow, sides and stern – will reveal which of the two ships they really are.

The “August” conversion is on the home straight. In a few days, the ship will leave its current location in the shipyard and return to the Elbe. A good three months will then have passed in which a great deal of work has been carried out on the interior and exterior of the saloon ship.

The elegant exterior in black and white perfectly matches the elegant interior with four completely redesigned salons, including a fully equipped conference deck, as on the MS “Gräfin Cosel”. The sun deck has also been redesigned – tables and chairs can now be moved aside for dancing, for example. Technical innovations such as the sprinkler system in all rooms are barely visible.

At the same time, there are two more steamers on the slipway in Laubegast. The work there is also nearing completion. Particularly noteworthy: our steamer “Krippen” has been given a completely new wheelhouse – based on the historical model. It is assumed that it was rebuilt during its visit to the Rhine in the 1990s. Thanks mainly to our own shipyard employees, it now fits in perfectly with the “Krippen” and our eight other steamers.

At the fleet parade on May 1st , all our guests and the spectators on the bridges and on the banks of the Elbe can see this for themselves.
