Das Motorschiff

There she is again!

After almost four months of renovations, our saloon boat “Gräfin Cosel” sailed back on the Elbe for the first time this week: from the shipyard in Laubegast to the Terrassenufer in the city center. There it now lies a few hundred meters from its usual spot for the final interior and exterior work. Technicians are still at work, brushes and paint are still needed, and the first pieces of furniture are being installed.

This Tuesday, the chairs for the Lounge Café and the Fine Dining Club were delivered, and the sun deck is almost complete. Glasses are being stored in cabinets and coffee machines are being set up so that our guests can enjoy our usual impeccable service on the ship’s first cruise—the Fleet Review on May 1st.

We’re delighted that so many people believed in us and have already booked seats on the “new” salon ship. This happened at a time when we couldn’t yet say with absolute certainty whether our renovation schedule would work. Now we know: It’s spot on. Our MS “Gräfin Cosel” is ready to sail, the interior is looking perfect, and even the flowers have arrived.

Would you like to experience the converted ship yourself? You can do so starting Friday (May 3), when the “Gräfin Cosel” will be in service like all other ships. According to our ship schedule, it will be sailing three times between the city center and Pillnitz Castle that day. You can book tickets for these city tours here. Ship ahoy!
