Winter break? No way!

While the Elbe River flows peacefully, the shipyard in Laubegast is bustling with activity. The steamers of the White Fleet of Saxony are using the winter months for important maintenance and modernization work. Ultimately, they should be ready for service in their former glory—and with a few improvements—just in time for the new season.

The passenger steamer “Krippen” is currently the center of attention. Among other things, it has received a completely new wheelhouse in recent weeks, which is not only functional but also visually impressive. Even the barrier sign curtseys in awe!

The steamer “Stadt Wehlen” is also docked at the shipyard, receiving the necessary maintenance so that it can soon transport passengers across the Elbe again. But before the ship returns to the water, two other vessels have priority: The PD “Meissen” and the PD “Dresden” will be the first to be relaunched, marking the start of the fleet’s return to the Terrassenufer.

Meanwhile, work on the saloon ship “August der Starke” is also progressing. Here, shipyard workers are preparing to install new doors in the nave.
