New interior, new look – two ships get a facelift
They’ve been in service for almost 30 years, thousands have sailed on them; they’re our largest ships. Some people love them, others don’t. They have popular names reminiscent of two Dresden prefab housing districts, and they’re equally suitable for event cruises, party tours, and scheduled cruises. Now we’re devoting special attention to the saloon ships of WEIßE FLOTTE SACHSEN GmbH.
It starts with the motor ship (MS) “Gräfin Cosel.” She’s scheduled to arrive at the Laubegast shipyard at the beginning of January, where she’ll undergo a complete overhaul. A facelift? That’s what you could call it, even though the “Cosel” isn’t wrinkled at all. The four interiors will remain, but will be spruced up, fitted with new furniture, and better adapted to their respective usage concepts.
For example, there’s the “Conference Deck,” which can accommodate up to 140 participants for conferences, training sessions, and seminars. It will be equipped with the necessary conference technology, including giant presentation screens. In the future, this space can be used as an independent conference venue, for example, on scheduled cruises. Fleet Managing Director Stefan Bloch: “A successful conference requires a top-notch conference atmosphere and creative breaks. The new conference room on the salon ship will combine both in a unique way.”
All four rooms on the “Gräfin Cosel” will be more tailored to specific uses than before, both elegant and versatile. Incidentally, the sun deck is also being refurbished; we’ll present the first (test) seating here in a later post.

We will report regularly on the renovation of our saloon ships here. Follow our construction diary, share in the transformation of our saloon ships, and be there when the “Cosel” takes part in the fleet parade with her new look on May 1, 2024.
