Two ships, one new look!
They will be confusingly similar – our saloon ships “Gräfin Cosel” and “Augustus the Strong”. Only a closer look – at the bow, sides and stern – will reveal which of the two ships they really are.

Our saloon ship “Augustus the Strong” is currently still at the shipyard – but the countdown is on: By 1 May, just in time for the start of the main season, the ship should be extensively modernized, renovated and ready for unforgettable hours on the Elbe.
A lot has happened at the Laubegast shipyard in recent weeks, and we’re making good progress with the conversion of the saloon ship “August der Starke”! Numerous projects have already been completed, while work is diligently underway in many other areas. Step by step, the ship is taking on its new shape – high time for an update!
Our saloon ship “August der Starke” was the first ship to pass the partially collapsed Carola Bridge in Dresden after more than four and a half months. A moving moment that not only marked the end of a long wait, but also the beginning of an exciting transformation.
The starting signal for our second major project, the comprehensive conversion of the saloon ship “August der Starke”, has been given. As was the case with the MS “Gräfin Cosel” a year ago, the initial work will be carried out directly on site at Terrassenufer. This way, we can ensure that no valuable time is lost and that the ship can shine in its new splendor in time for the naval parade in May.
After almost four months of renovation, our saloon ship “Gräfin Cosel” sailed on the Elbe for the first time this week: from the shipyard in Laubegast to the Terrassenufer in the city center.
The hull has been removed, the scaffolding is being dismantled. Our “Gräfin Cosel” is unveiling its new look for the first time. It’s not finished yet, but the fleet’s chief technical officer assures: “The schedule will be met.”
There’s still a good month left for the final renovation. Cables still need to be installed and connected, and much more. The exterior of the saloon ship is currently undergoing a noticeable transformation.
It’s done: Our saloon ship, the MS “Gräfin Cosel,” now has a sprinkler system, i.e., an automatic fire extinguishing system. A significant milestone in the renovation of the saloon ship has thus been reached.
Our saloon boat “Gräfin Cosel” has disappeared behind tarpaulins intended to provide protection and warmth. Work continues on the boat, which has been undergoing renovation at the Dresden-Laubegast shipyard since the beginning of January.
Our saloon boat, the “Gräfin Cosel,” is now housed in a special “house.” Scaffolders erected it, and it is being covered with foil to facilitate work in wind and weather.
The conversion of our saloon ship “Gräfin Cosel” is now underway at the shipyard in Dresden-Laubegast, and we are a bit ahead of schedule.
