Arrival at the shipyard – now it starts!

A major project is starting, and we’re a bit ahead of schedule. The conversion of our saloon ship “Gräfin Cosel” is now underway at the shipyard in Dresden-Laubegast. Due to the brief drop in the Elbe water level, the ship departed from the Terrassenufer a day earlier than planned and was also brought onto the slipway a day earlier.
The last-minute schedule change was a challenge for the ship’s crew, our catering team, and the technicians. Everyone pitched in, and we’re pleased that the “Cosel” is now ready for her facelift, even ahead of schedule. Not only will she undergo a visual change inside and out, but technical upgrades are also planned—for example, a new wastewater system and sprinklers that will significantly improve fire protection.
The next step in our mega-project: The Schottel propulsion systems will be removed; they require an overhaul after ten years of operation. The ship will also be getting new windows in the aft saloon—where you can indulge yourself in the new Lounge Café.
Stay tuned, the next update on the renovation will follow soon.
