A journey through history, tradition, and the future

Since 1836, the vessels of the Saxon Steamship Company have glided along the River Elbe—carrying with them nearly two centuries of history, engineering, and passion. What began with the founding of the Elbe Steamship Company has grown into a living legend: the oldest and largest paddle steamer fleet in the world. To this day, nine historic paddle steamers and two elegant salon ships tell a story of progress, change, and an enduring fascination with travel on the water.

In 2026, we celebrate 190 years of maritime tradition—190 years of encounters, stories, and emotions on the Elbe. This anniversary invites us to look back on almost two centuries of dedication to Elbe navigation, while also looking ahead to new experiences that will continue to inspire and delight our guests in the future.
